This Friday evening I’m looking forward to returning to UC Irvine to participate in Music for the Mind III from 6:30-9:00 pm. As the name suggests, this is the third event in a series of programs on music, neurology, and the genius of master musician and virtuoso of the tanbour Ostad Elahi.
I’m honored to join musician and psychiatrist Emmanuel During and music therapist Tim Ringgold for a panel discussion moderated by my good friend and clinical psychologist Kamran Fallahpour. The panel will be followed by a musical performance by Emanuel During on tanbour and Poorya Forgahni on Daf. These are equally sensitive and dynamic musicians that bring forward the best qualities in these two powerful and healing instruments. The panel discussion and musical performance will be followed by a reception. I believe I’ll also be signing my book Healing at the Speed of Sound® which will be available at the event.
Thank you to UCI Claire Trevor School of the Arts, UCI Susan Samueli Center for Integrative Medicine, UCI Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, and our friends at the Nour Foundation for hosting Music for the Mind III.
If you are in Southern California and available Friday evening I hope you’ll join us. The past two events sold out. Tickets are available at the UC Irvine Online Ticket Office and the Box Office on the night of the event.
